SNAP!......... crap

I got on the highway earlier this morning and when I reached 70, the wind noise cued me that the door was ajar slightly. So I gave it a quick open & shut. The door was closed but I must've pulled harder than I should. I was left with the door handle in my left hand

On both ends of the handle, metal is visible that 'should' go into the door panel - I snapped it off, proper.

2 questions

Am I just lucky? Or are vettes like old camaros / firebirds, where 2/3 had busted door handles?
Is procuring / replacing a door handle an easy task? (please say yes).

If so, where would you guys look for a door handle? Guess it's time to start learning about sources for old parts.

excellent - thanks.

I'm on Zip Corvette parts and they list the 'door pulls'. There are many interior color options...

My interior is tan / beige
The only choice on their list that looks like it could be right is 76 Buckskin.

is this 76 "Buckskin"?

Now that I look at the pics, the color of the current handles is a little off from the door panel.... looks like I'm not the first to snap off a handle

Of all the images that a title like "SNAP!....crap" conjures up I'm glad it's just a doorpull!

I believe that colour is buckskin.
In my experience Corvette Central has the best shipping costs for us Canadians since they broker the packages themselves.

Yes. Looks like Buckskin. My 77Buckskin is very close but is different than 76Buckskin. Also my door pulls are not an exact match to door skin. Mike...

Thanks - I'm on Corvette central now. Now I have to find that one piece you said I needed for the slightly slower turn signal...

The prices on all the pieces I'm looking at are a very pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting anything like this
