Here is a part you are going to need in order to run the Fbody shifter.

http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...17/7328789.htm

The GTO one is longer and puts the shifter in the wrong location to mount. This is easy to replace but without this the shifter will never line up properly. I'm not sure if this is what he was talking about but I found this out while installing mine.

For the water temp gauge and PCM input, you can continue to use the driver side head sending unit port, but use the 98 f-body sensor. This has 2 outputs, 1 for the PCM and 1 for your gauge. It should be close enough (it is on my 82) to put the gauge in relative similar position that you would be satisfied. No BS with drilling-tapping any head for anyhting new.

If your afraid to try that, Street and Performance has adapters to convert all types of sensors threads to the metric LS engine ports. It is better to put the temp sensor right in the head though, and not distanced away from the coolant.

For motor mounts and other items, I recommend getting a hold of Josh (Superpowers). Lots of experience there and a great guy!

If you read or search the LS swap sticky thread at the top of the page you will probably find answers to all of your questions. That thread and ls1tech.com should be almost all that you will need.

If I remember correctly, the GTO shifter/linkage is offset directly behind the standard shifter location. You'll need an offset to the drivers side. Post a pic of what you've got now. S&P, Keisler, and a few other places that deal in T56 aftermarket parts have them.
Early temp senders are 1/2" npt and a different range from later. Doubt you could tap the head to that size or deep enough. Tapping the drivers side block plug is probably the simplest solution.
Keep in mind any upgrades will require a tune, so before you buy a cam, etc. find someone local that can dyno tune and get their suggestions on cams etc.

Don't forget the oil pan and dip stick. Front sump won't work. Also AC and alternator will need to be moved.
