Was pushing my 81 out of the garage by pushing on the rear tire with my hand.....and as the wheel rotated every few inches I could feel a "clunk"....like each U joint cup was binding; both sides did this.
I have replaced all U joints a few years ago...only have a couple thousand miles on them....is this something I need to look into further or probably okay??
Rear trailing arms rebuilts by VanSteel 300 miles ago.
Take a look at the driveshaft U-joints. The driveshaft will turn 3-4 times for each revolution of the wheel. That might translate to every few inches and you might feel it in both wheels.
I will check he driveshaft U joints...but I think I changed them at the same time I did the halfshafts. Drove the car to and from work yesterday, 60 miles and all seemed to be fine.
I have never changed the differential fluid and so I think I really need to do this. I was going to change gears but never did, so besides the GM posi additive, any recommendations for fluid to use?
I have been searching the forum on best way to do this and looks like time for me to visit Harbor Freight for a pump...I knew I should have taken the cover off when I had it out of the car.....
