My power steering pump functions fine but is leaking on the front side. As far as I can tell, there are no lines that go into the front side. Is there something I can check or attempt to reseal? Or, is it simply time for a new pump? It appears that there is a bolt that goes all the way through the tank on the pump - if it is as it looks, I would guess that it may be leaking from there.

The shaft seal sometimes leaks, and the tank seal. Those two will drip from the front. You will have to look very closely to see if it is the shaft seal.
I think the seal kit is still available from GM, I got one from them about a year ago. It was less than $20 and had all the parts you need to seal it. It wasn't rocket science to install.
This picture shows the common areas where a Saginaw power steering pump my leak fluid. The two areas on the front part of the pump are shown in the blowups B and C.
Usually if the driveshaft seal leaks, the drops of power steering oil hit the rotating pulley and then is flung around the engine compartment and the road. So you don't get a very good view as to where the leakage is occuring.
Thanks guys and thanks Jim for the great diagram. It sure looks to me like it is leaking from 'B' in the diagram. It looks like the kit should solve this one. I think that is what I will do unless it makes more sense just to put a rebuilt unit in since I will be going through the work of pulling it out. Any opinions? Would you just replace the pump or install the kit? Incidentally - I have found rebuilt pumps ranging in price from the usual suppliers from $89 - $299! How could this be?
