I bought the parts a couple of years back and have now lost the instructions on modifying pre 85 blocks for this conversion. Can someone upload or email them to me?
Thanks but I am looking for the instructions that cover using OEM dogbones and spider. There are slight modifications required to the lifter valley, tapped holes for the spider and some clearancing for the dog bones. It's that latter part I'm interested in. Pictures would be great if anyone has done that mod themselves.
I think I know what you're talking about. Several years back there was a guy on Ebay selling instructions on how to clearance the back of the lifter bore casting area for the dogbones, also the listing for the short V-6 style roller lifters. He also hinted that he had some issues with oiling quantity to the rocker arms. Personally I wouldn't recommend this method unless you're open to a lot of experimentation, trouble-shooting and risk to your engine build. Go with after market retrofit roller followers.

i can't imagine the machine work required to put the later style set up in an older build, it has to at least match or exceed the cost of the retro roller setup...jmo...
Ya, DurangoBoy had those instructions. He emailed them to me years ago but the whole thing was such a kluge I deleted the document. He might be over on the "other" site.

Wow...DurangoBoy.......haven't heard that in a while...where'd he go?
I gave this serious consideration when I first was looking at building my 406 and after looking at the pictures and reading the instructions, it's really not much of a job at all. I had the machine shop that was doing the other work on the block face, drill and tap the holes for the spider so all I have to do is a bit of grinding for dogbone clearance.
The oiling issue is news to me but should be simple to ascertain before putting it on the road.
