All I know is I loved the seats that were in my 96 vette. So if C4 seats fit just as well as C5 seats and can be had for most likely cheaper then i'm going to be all over it as well.
I am planning on putting c4 seats into mine when I install the interior. The ones I'm going to install are the earlier ones (up to 88). I think you either need to change c3 tracks to fit the seats or you can modify the seats to fit the tracks. Here is the link to my thread about c4 seats in a c3 corvette- http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...-corvette.html
I had an old Ecklers catalog that says all you need is your original seat tracks and just bolt to the bottoms of the C4 seats. I was going to go that way and actually bought a pair and had them in the car loose while I finished it, but ended up with late C3 seats.

Thats how mine are installed.
Ive never sat in stock c3 seats but I couldn't imagine them being lower than my c4 seats. The stock tracks bolt right into the seat pan and its just the lower pad on top of that.
