Default 79 Resto Questions

I have a 79 that I am restoring. By the vin # it was an L48 Auto but now it is an L82 4spd. My question right now is about cruise control. The brake light switch is for cruise, there is the transducer down under the master cylinder with 2 speedo cables. But there is nothing on the steering column to activate cruise. It appears to be the original column so what would activate the cruise/ Or should I just eliminate all the cruise stuff & forget it ? I'l appreciate any & all input....Thanks

I could be wrong, and if I am Im sure someone else will point that out, but I'm under the impression you could only get cruise control with an automatic

There was just a single button at the end of the turn signal stalk. No resume or reset or anything else like you'd find on a more modern car.
And like mentioned, from the factory, you could only get cruise with an automatic.

I guessing they hadn't implemented the technology to cancel the cruise with the clutch pedal.

As I said, the car was born an L48 with auto transmission but someone before me converted it to an L82 & a 4spd. Thanks for the replies, I'll just eliminate all the cruise stuff that is left.

And optional cruise control.

FWIW: someone will want your cruise control parts.
