Rear window on '76 & tinting
Hi yall. So I have a question, my Vette has tinting on the rear window, but I'm not sure if Vettes in '76 came with tinted back window. If it isn't stock I'll take it off.

I have two 76's both have rear window defogger elements and no tinting. I do not believe I have seen any 68 - 77 Vette with rear window tinting. Is it the plastic film tinting you have?

If you have the defogger elements you do not want to scrape it off with a razor blade or you will ruin the elements. I have heard that any window cleaner like windex with ammonia will cause it to come off.

No, it's not stock. If you remove it, be careful. You can easily damage any sort of rear defogger elements, if you're not careful. On the other hand, if you don't have a rear defogger, feel free to use a razor. Most old tint, however, should easily peel off. Any remaining adhesive, can be removed with a blade or mineral spirits, kerosene, et al.
