Default 1981 Diff Cover Bolts

I am trying to figure out what size bolts the are used to hold the diff cover on a 1981 rear end. I bought what I thought were the right capscrews 12mm x 1.75 pitch but they do not fit.

I have checked the 1981 shop manual and the 14A Parts and Illustration manual to no avail.

Any ideas?

I don't believe any of the C3's had metric bolts. Prior to 80 they had 7/16-14 bolts.

I'm going to Guess that they have a 1.25 Pitch or possibly a 1.50. If You have a Tap set try screwing them in till You find the right one.
