Both on left (driver) side of car. First is a black box down by the fuse panel. It is a black box about 2 ¾ square and ½ in thick. It says Phillips on it and on the bottom of one side had a little, maybe an inch, circle that has speaker like holes in it. Second is a toggle switch (on and off positions only) on the right side, above accelerator petal, on the duct for the A/C / heater vents with the wires running inside the duct.
Does anyone know that either of these things are??!?
I was thinking possibly a buzzer for something but no clue found the number 377596 but couldn’t find anything online. There is a female harness with a green wire and an orange wire with a place on the box for it to plug in but haven’t tried it yet
The toggle switch is probably the rear window defogger. On '74 and prior years there is a fan that blows across the rear window. On '76 and later years there is a heating element on the rear window. I'm not sure which of those the '75's have.
The rear defog switch on my 68 is a rotary ****(low-off-high) on the small access panel at the lower drivers side of the center console, but I'm not sure if this holds true for all years that had it. A pic would be helpful, but it doesn't sound like a factory option. Might have been for an aftermarket alarm system, or electric fuel pump.
