i need to remove the compressor from a '72
it has not been gassed/hooked up since the car was sent downunder
do i just remove the bolt from the block with the 2 blue caps?
then un-bolt the compressor?
sorry if this seems a dumb question, but i have never played with a air con system before.
First, I would remove one of the blue caps and depress the shrader valve there to make sure there is no refrigerant pressure. If no pressure, then just remove the bolt through the aluminum block.
Not sure why you want to remove the compressor, but if you even plan on putting the system back together, I would seal all the openings you just created to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system.
