Need Paint Code for '68 Rally Red

I happened to see a '68 in Rally Red the other day (that's what the owner said the color was). I think this color would look great on my '80, but I'd like to know the paint code.

Code for Rally Red is 974. There were 2918 of them made.

'68 Rally Red. One year only.

4688-LH for Dupont;
A-1744R for Rinshed-Mason;
71491 for Ditzler.

All above are for the original acryllic lacquer. Your paint supplier should be able to take any of those numbers and come up with a match. Good Luck.

Paint code 974 rally red, for 68. same code for monza red for 69 & 70.

According to VetteSet and BlackBook, Code 974 was Rally Red in 66, 67, 68. In 65 Rally Red was UU.

Paint code (974) is the same. The OEM paint numbers are different which means the colors are slightly different or a change in paint formulation occurred. The numbers I listed are for the OEM '68 lacquer and they do not cross match with any other year. Hence, one year only.
