Separating Rear Wheel Bearing Assembly From Trailing Arm
Since my frame is in the shop for repairs, I though now would be a good time to tear down the rear end for restoration. After dousing the stud bolts for two days, I finally attempted (successfully) to remove the nuts. The assembly is still solid as a rock!
I removed the castle nut from the inner side of the spindle, but that didn't free it up, so it's still in there.

Soak the seam between the bearing carrier and the T-arm w/PB Blaster penitrating oil. Took o/nite but worked. Then get nasty w/the hammer! Have fun...-Rod :chevy

Unless you are going to start replacing rather then rebuilding the T arm parts I wouldn't go wacking it with a hammer. I just posted about this yesterday, look it over first. You'll need some special tools and a press to get the job done right. If you mushroom the threaded portion of the spindle then it's junk.
