My 81 was never able to circulate air through the face vents, only the footwells. The defroster worked fine as well. I spent 4 hours taking everything apart and found out that a cheap 10 cent fastener that holds together two halves of the electrical selector switch was broke. Any idea where I can find a new...........cheap fastener, or electrical switch, or worst case a whole new panel. I tried E-Bay and didn't find anything for an 81. I've enclosed pics Any help is appreciated![IMG][/IMG]
The electrical switch is discontinued. I may have a used one, I'll have to check.. Or you can give Norm a call and he will check for you. 812-288-7103.
Now.. if you can put the switch back together.. I think the button retainer used to hold the inner dust flaps on the car is about the same size. You could push it through and then us a soldering iron to melt the end down so it won't come off... Never used one on this switch but I did use one a long time ago to repair the vacuum select switch.
I feel pretty sure I have a used compressor switch though.
