The alarm, or anti-theft(sorry) has a relay and flasher unit under the console just forward of the shifter.
Try pulling the radio fuse.
You don't say whether you have a factory radio or an aftermarket radio that may have been miswired. The radio and power antenna use different fuses but there are common wires, maybe backfeeding somehow through the radio.
I know factory radio has 2 yellow wires, one for power, one leaves the radio to trigger the antenna. If these wires are switched the 'stereo' indicator in the factory radio stays lit. Apparently it gets power from the antenna orange hot wire.
I do have a aftermarket stereo, i have constant power stealing power from the cig lighter (since constant radio cable doesnt seem to work)
ignition power and i have antenna power connected to the radio ant cable.
ill check the wires today since its been raining the past few days

Go to the site i posted earlier to get all wiring for '78
Well if all else fails...you could install a disconect master switch until you figure the issue out. That'll keep your battery from draining so fast. But you'll have to reset the radio stations and time all over agian...i take thats why you have a constant feed going to the radio.
Do you have a manual ? Blue circle is intermittent wiper controller assembly. has nothing to do with radio. Red is instrument lps. Black & Purple are for headlight warning buzzer
Carney and others are getting great tips from 78silver, Kaps and others. The link to the 1978 specific schematics is a great resource.
Having the right tools to do the job is important and that includes the right schematics. I have found working to track these circuit paths are dizzing and also like the color coded schematics. Don Olsen produced one for 1978 that I have found useful. Dr Rebuild also produced a nice series but last time I checked...he stopped at 1976.
Since the original posters last post was around Thanksgiving of last year,
I'm thinking that he may have resolved his problem and neglected to inform the forum...
