Default brake light wiring

Is there any postings as to wiring up a third brake light on the C3. Mine has one on top and when I did some redoing of the interior I noticed that they had wired it to the rear driverside tail light which caused my blinker to act very slow when I turned it on. After disconnecting the brake light the blinker worked just fine. I'm looking at hooking it up to the brake light switch (the connector by the brake pedal) anyone see a problem with that...and which way would be the best to wire it.

Sounds like the type of problem that you get when you hook up a trailer to a car's wiring harness. I think there are 'heavy duty' flashers available for trailer hookups that will make your directionals blink correctly.

I have the same project planed and am going to run the HOT wire to near the brake pedal switch, seems to me like that would work just fine.

that's what I figured ... since the switch is used for the brakes i'm pretty sure I won't be over loading it with an extra couple led bulbs.
