Light bulb tech ?
Is there any major difference between a 1141 tail light bulb and a 1156 tail light bulb? I don't want any huge heat melting a lens, BTW both bulbs are exactly the same in size and shape, but I'm not sure about the watts and that stuff ? Thank you !

Looks like the 1141 is 18W and the 1156 is 27W. Not a significant difference between the two. The less bright one is probably use more for running lights and the brighter is probably used for things like reverse lights.

1156 is the normal tail light bulb. You can tell vehicles that the wrong bulbs installed on one side, easily enough. Have you ever been behind a vehicle at night & noticed one tail light much brighter than the other one?
