I went to start my car tonight but my engine wouldn't turn. The starter won't turn at all. I don't even hear a "click". I get the radio, all the lights, horn, etc. The only thing that was recently done to my car was that I replaced the headlight switch. I did power to the starter and there is 12V going to it. The fusible link on the smaller wire going to the starter looks good. Is there another fuse that could cause this? I don't know where to start.
check to make sure there is 12v on the purple wire at the starter when the swich is in the "crank" position. that's the power coming from the ignition switch thru the safety switch to the solenoid. if you don't have 12v there, trace the circuit back. if you do have 12v, it's probably the starter. some guys say to give it a rap with a small hammer, to see if it's just stuck.
