New exhaust installed - finally!
This was an easy system to install. Two of my most important tools to do it:
Large mouth Vise Grips - allowed me to easily twist the main pipes while running a touch of clamping pressure on the center clamps - very nice tool. I originally got it to hold shock absorbers while installing the installation nuts 10 years ago.
1-1/2 ton aluminum jack - allowed me to hold the pipes in place while lining up, installing, etc. I have a couple small pieces of 2 X 4 so I don't have to raise the jack pad so much. This cheap jack is easy to manage with one hand, against a leg, jack the tranny when I installed the 2-1/2" center hangar, etc. Indispensable. Not sure I'd jack up a car though with it

Also used big pieces of cardboard to lie down on when moving around under the car. Forgot to mention that the car is jacked up on all four corners and resting on HD jack stands. One of the photos shows where the jacks are placed in order to allow you to get around where you need to without contorting yourself around a stand.
Can't wait to fire it up - my T/T column is being rebuilt

Yes - 4 car garage - but only one large door - weird
But it also has a little 1/2 Ton chain hoist on a rail that you can barely see above and to the left of the drivers door!I added some photos from under the car. Still have more wrap to do on the one pipe and I will wrap the other downpipe with header wrap later. Will then clamp the wrap in place with large hose clamps.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I DO like the way the pipes are gently schmushed under the axle to increase ground clearance. I think the factory pipes were also schmushed. Last edited by mar; Nov 25, 2010 at 09:49 PM.
