I'd love to know what the difference between these 2 sets of calipers are? I found I have a leak from the seals of one of my calipers, so I figure why not change them all, if the price is right.
I'm no expert but the more expensive set have stainless steel sleeves and o-ring seals which can be rebuilt later on without worrying about the bores.Did you check Autozone as I got a pair there for about $6o a wheel with SS sleeves lifetime warranty with exchange
with the O ring seals there is less of a chance of run out causing air to be pumped into the brake system. Unless you know your run out is perfect it would be worth the extra money to me.
If your lip seals leaked before, they'll leak again. Either rebuild your own calipers with an O ring kit (if they're S/S lined), or buy O ringed calipers.
Buy them locally at a discount store as freight will eat up any savings if purchased from the mainland as the cores {old used calipers} will have to be shipped back and forth for credit.....and you dont need any fancy calipers as they will 'all leak sometime in the future as the fluid attracts moisture and the eventual rust happens to all of them wherever they come from.....

yes buy locally if you can, shipping will kill you.. shipping of the cores will kill you also..
and the little surprise they will hit you with is that your cores are not OK or some other surprise reason for not sending you back the full core charge will happen also...
always read the fine print regarding the core charge refund.. you will be surprised at what you find out.
Looks like I can get all 4 for $330 at Checkers! Better time than any to change the pads while I'm at it!
Thanks again! I'll be busy tomorrow
I would buy the calipers locally, use them until they start to leak (just a matter of time) or suck in too much air and become a safety issue, and then rebuild them with an O-ring kit. These days you would have to look pretty hard to find a rebuilt caliper that WASN'T stainless-steel lined.
So I bought all 4 calipers, with new brake pads locally from O'Reilly's yesterday. Installed them and bled all the brakes in accordance with the Haines manual I have. Left rear, right rear, left front, then right front. Everything seems good until the test drive. The brakes are still 'soggy' and the pedal goes all the way to the floor with minimal braking power.
I had fluid without air come out of every caliper. So in theory there shouldn't be any air in the system...
