new intake ?
have a1978 ind pacecar witha l-82 dart heads want to put on pro produts intake wind storm
will I have room with stock air breather to miss the hood or close the hood with on trouble , intake is 1.5 inches taller then the stock intake.

You can use play dough or soft clay on top of you current intake setup and SLOWLY close the hood. It should compress the clay or other material you used . Measure how much clearence you have now. If you are SURE the new intake is 1.5 inches taller you will have your answer.

motor out
I believe the motor is already out of his car. Has anyone else cked the air cleaner clearance on a 78 vette? Ia. farmer, you may want to edit your post title to something like "air cleaner clearance with aftermarket intake"
