Big G was a great inspiration and help for me.

Steering:
Yes, I changed to the GM type II power steering punp. The main pain was plumbing the hoses......I dropped in a hydroboost (eliminate vacuum for brakes) which resolved much of that and cleared more room for the air intake of the Procharger.

Model:
Mine is also a '78, but a P1SC (for now anyways).

Engine
I have a RPM package on a crate 350 for now. I have a forged 377 in the corner of the garage waiting for this engine to blow.

Clearance
I had a friend who worked at a billet aluminum trucking place. He had someone fill some of the stock holes, for the blower mounting plate to the engine heads, and make me new ones. This allowed my blower to sit below the hood. Some have needed to cut away under the hood for clearance. I have an L88 hood for clearance of my carb hat, etc, on an air-gap intake for now.

Carb
I'm running a BG blowthrough carb

Status:
I'm at the stage to buy a belt and try it out without the air-to-air intercooler for now. I'll try to post up pictures soon.

Feel free to ask me whatever.

Thanks for the great info, I already have hydroboost fitted, my worry was the gm type 2 wasn't going to work it right, or somthing like that

Let me know how it goes, the pro charger is on it's way, so try and get started soon
Cheers mate, Dave
