Default More about that '79 (PICS)

Hi everyone, i'll post a link to the first topic I started last week for the ones' who didn't read it, here it is.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=271625

I want to thank all that replyed then and if anyone would like to reply now please do it here in this topic, pics of the car will be up in about 1/2 hour so please tell me what you think now, and if you didnt post last time please do now.

So here is part two of this story, I went back and looked the car over real good this time, took a few pics, some good some bad, but all and all the car looks really good for sitting for 5 years, I took some advice from here and went up to the guy and befor starting the car I offered him $2500, he said lets see if it'll start, after putting a new batt in and a few shots of gas in the carb it started.

To make a long story short... he said ok to $3000

I haven't gave him the money yet, if most of you all think it's a fair deal then it's a go later this week so please tell me what you think!

Please check back in 1/2 hour for pics

Thanks again,
Mike :seeya

If it has a motor that runs, it is worth $3,000. Run, do not walk.

buy. buy it now. seriously do it while you can, you never really realize how good a deal is untill it is pulled away or almost pulled away. I bought a 79 L-82 in mint with around 50k miles....leather, a/c, 4 spd, pwr everything, excelllent condition all original and i payed 10k. i was told it was a good deal from some and that i got ripped off from others. but you know what? i dont care what they think cause i was ecstatic to get it, the owner almost didnt sell it. and i have never been happier. and it was worth it to me. the way i look at it is if youre willing to pay 3k for it and be happy then its a good deal. if not, there are always more out there :chevy

The short that is killing the battery is often the courtesy light circuit.

$3K is a good price if the frame is solid and the major mechanicals work.

If the body is in good shape, you may have a real nice car for $4-5K and that is a home run.

Check out my 79. Link attached.

Good luck,

LMJ
