Is there a easy way to fix the ACC. option with out taking the column apart. I do not get power to the radio when I'm switched back. It's hard on the battery listening to the radio at Sonic when the computer, fuel pump, and fan is going.
You could route the power lead to your radio straight to an "unswitched" fuse of adequate amperage in your fusebox, but still use an inline fuse on the power lead to your radio. You could then turn your radio on/off without using your key. Might be an alternative to tearing out your ignition switch...kinda the easy way out.
I had the same problem... key wouldn't go into ACC... then about a year later I began having trouble getting the key out and somtimes I couldn't turn it at all. I bought a new key cylinder and called a locksmith to re-key the new one for my key.....He looked a my keys (which looked good to me) and told me that both keys were badly worn. He made new keys from the code (not copying my keys) He though I should have. Everthing works perfect now... even ACC. TRY a new key...
Bud-I have the same problem, I can go into the ACC. switch intermittently. I think it's either a worn switch or key. I know a locksmith that can make a new key using the ingition switch. I'll try this first and if that doesn't work, I'm replaceing the whole ignition switch.
