Default remote starter switch

69 427 Do I have to by pass the clutch safety switch to get the remote starter to work. If so how do I do that?

no......
solenoid wire and + cable is the hook up

The remote starter is by passing the whole system. You are just taking 12 volts directly to the solenoid.

I know it will turn starter over, but it seems it does not want to fire with the remote switch. Does it matter if the key switch is on or not?

The key would have to be on as all the remote starter switch does is activate the starter that turns the motor over but does not activate the coil or HEI.

Are we talking about a remote start switch, or a remote starter.

remote starter switch that u connect 2 wires to solenoid. Trying to get car started by adjusting distributor..

Turn your key to ON if you want the engine to fire up while using the remote starter switch to crank the engine over.
