I have a 79 corvette and a while back i purchased a rebuilt p/s pump and had it replaced at a small garage close to me. When i picked the car up i noticed the steering sluggish and just thought it had some air in it. I drove the car home and parked it for about 3 weeks befor i drove it again the steering seemed to get worse so i had the pump replaced under warranty, it was worse i had no steering at idle . Anyhow since then i have replaced the steering cylinder twice and the slave cylinder, all the lines and a third p/s pump, still no steering. The system has been bleed by the book the lines are crossed and the steering cylinder balanced. Still no steering. Can anybody help me.

you need to take out 1 or more shims in the pressure control valve located at the back of the pump....
wow... so much work... sorry..... for all the time and $$ you spent you could have gone to a Rack & Pinion set-up... guess its to late now though....
like i said.. pressure control valve.... remove only 1 shim at a time and test... p
