Forum: I want to put locking hood pins on my 74. I am concerned that when the hood gets the proper curve back in it, the hood pins will no longer line up.
I got some Hood Alignment Blocks as per my body guy. he said I have to put them in temp and move them until I get it right!
Any help out there? I have the nice ones from Hoodpins.net
A pic on where to start would be nice. TIA
This is the only photo I could find. I'm assuming you are talking about the little black rubber bumpers that the hood sits on. Mine came with a peel and stick adhesive. I placed them in various places until I got the hood curvature like I wanted. I have one on each side. The peel and stick did not hold very well and I lost one of the bumpers -- good thing I ordered extra. I ended up using some weatherstrip adhesive to secure and have had no issues since. I'm sure each vette is a little different; you just have to play with them a little to get correct. I've read where some guys have had to trim theirs a little to get to fit correctly, but I did not. Hope this helps . . .
Sly: I am having some work done by a shop class and I don't want them getting under the hood. LOL
I have never been fond of the stock set up as have many!
I found some very nice hood locks that I really like.
