Any easy, quick, cheap way to lower my front end about an inch? Since removing the original headlight assemblies and loosing that weight it looks like the front is up just a little too much. In other words, too much gap between the top of the tires and fender. Even some in the rear. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!!!
i lowered my whole car but first of all cutting a coil out of each of my front springs and then i matched the back to the front by getting longer bolts to go from each end of the spring to the control arm,the straighter you can get a spring to sit (less arch) the lower the car will be.i have done it on alot of trucks.if you do cut a coil use a chop saw or hacksaw NO HEAT as in torchs etc.my car still rides fine and looks alot better
Keep in mind that when you lower you car any amount the alignment will change, espically in the back. When lowering the front be sure get the toe setup right and keep an eye on the negetive camber in the back. Although good for racing, negetive camber in the back will wear tires out fast.
I took off 3/4 of a coil and that was just right. Be carefull, one guy here took of too much and his shocks bottomed out while driving and blew through his A arms.

Re: How to lower front end (Matt M)
Check out the first page(Bottom) of my site. Fender lip height is 26.5in....I don't recommend going lower than that. On certain dips in the road, the rear exhaust clamp(the one by the differential) bottoms out a little......More justification for the Hooker Sidemounts!
I cut a half coil off each of mine, but that didn't drop it as much as I expected. Might go more after I get the rear end done. I got so good at it that I could have the coil out, cut and back in again inside 30 mins.
A 4"grinder with a cutoff wheel is the best to use I found. Others have good advice as you've already seen. Don't just drop it back on it's wheels and expect to see the finished result immediately either. Roll the car back and forth a few times first or even drive it up and down the driveway. It has to settle slightly.
