I looked up the Tranny numbers, Here they are: 1352-062 GM 1984 Camaro/Firebird 5.0 V8 G 2.76 2.95 1.94 1.34 1.00 0.73 Note this is a NWC T5. The World Class T5 began in 1988. This transmission will bolt up to a Standard bell housing which is mechanical. Good luck Maybe you can buy cheaper??? Al

Thanks for the post Al, I may hold off on this tranny and wait to find one with the correct bellhousing (if possible). I would like to keep the camaro style because of the mounting angle.
If it were I, I would look for a World class T5. A standard bell housing also. This way you can use a Standard Flywheel and keep your normal starter. The angle problem is not a big deal. I will just make an angled mount for mine. Or you can look into a Ford T5 with proper splines. You do need an adaptor plate though. Al
I think I'll keep looking for an actual WC thanks for all the help. I'd go the ford route but I'm not a machinist nor do I have access to a machine shop to make the adaptor plate.
Just dont forget before you pull the old trans to get that measurment from the top of the crossmember to the bottom center of the slip yoke. You want that T5 height at that same driveline height as what it replaced, to avoid any vibrations.
I found a company who makes the adaptor for the Ford T5 to Muncie bell housing, Called Wilcap adaptors Here is the link; http://www.wilcap.com/chevy.html#350FT5
350-FT5 BHA GM MUNCIE TO FORD T5 BELLHOUSING ADAPTER $255.00 for the price, I suspect someone could easily copy in a machine shop. Al
I've already pulled the motor and trans from the car so I'll have to wing it on leveling the driveshaft and tranny.
Thanks for the link in the adapter plate Al, when I was looking for info on the swap I came across their website. if I understand the plate right, you use a ford T5 to a mucie bellhousing. My question is do you still need to use the adapter plate with this swap?
I bet this Wilcap company can fit you up with an adaptor and bell housing for a Ford T5 26 spline. I kind of wished I had investigated more. Since you are going to need a flywheel, clutch, linkage, throwout brg, pilot brg and bell housing. I would give them a call and find out, you might be surprised. This way you would have a level rear support, and then just need a modified shifter. Boy this could get really easy. I found more Ford WC T5's than Chevy anyway. Good luck Al
I don't think the input shaft would be a hard fix, I just didn't like the idea of the plate. I wonder with the Mucie Bellhousing, where does it put the shifter...
I guess, the shifter would be 1/2" back further than using a Chevy T5. I am going to start working on the rear mount angle for mine. I bought some 1/4" plate steel yesterday. I need to work out the angle and weld up an 18* angle mount. The adaptor would not really bother me at all. I have quite a few transmission to transfercase adaptors in differant vehicles. Al
I don't mind the adaptor either. just making one bothers me. I just don't have the experience in something like that. If I could just buy one for making the ford t5 trans and bellhousing I'd go that route.
The adapter plate is very easy to make and the only thing you need a shop to do is make the large hole for the input and then the mounting holes can be made with a drill press or even a hand drill. Also you can incorporate the tilt into the plate and do away with the mod to the rear mount.
Big savings also...Aluminum for the plate was about $7.00!
I will try to post a blueprint for the plate if you want.
Thanks for the blue print of the adapter. I may take it by a machine shop and see what they can do and how much. With the adapter, what clutch assembly do you use, I'm assuming ford.

Not knowing much in the way of inspecting a tranny, I may have just found a 93 mustange WC T5 tranny for about $450.00. Its local so I could pick it up and not even have to pay shipping. I have know idea how to bench test it to make sure I'm not buying a dud of a tranny. Can anyone share thoughts on how I can perform a decent inspection before buying?
