I know this topic has been discussed many times but I have never seen this specific question asked or answered anywhere in my searches.
I just installed my new Torq Thrust II's (17"x9") on the rear of my '73. I had to relocate the e-brake cable bracket just as many of you had to do. However, with the car on jack stands and the rear wheels hanging, the end of my monospring is practically touching the wheel such that you can't put a piece of paper between them. My question is this: When I lower the car to the ground, and the body settles to its final height and the wheels move out to there proper place, will this gap open up giving me more clearance? My guess is that it will but would like other opinions before I risk scarring my new wheels!
Thanks for the replies. I will let the wheels settle and recheck the clearance. I have some 1/4" wheel spacers but hope i don't have to use them. I hate to give up the lug threads needed for spacers.
