Default While I'm at it....?

Hi all,

Got another question. Since I'm going to be yanking my engine soon from my 'sleepy' 79 and putting in a crate I was wondering if there's anything else obvious I ought to do while I've got everything torn apart like treating/repainting the bay?

I just don't like the idea of passing up on the only chance I might have for along time to do X Y or Z...

Recommendations?

Thanks!

any a-frame repair/resto, steering box, wiring, headlight parts, vac lines/parts, clamps etc. good luck on your motor and other work, worth it in long run and very rewarding

Yep rebuild the front suspension and power steering, then do the vacuum system. Like already said, it's worth it.

Have you considered changing the transmission to one with overdrive? Both automatic and manual usually have lower first gears (to help performance)and higher cruising gears (for quieter high speed operation).

when i put in my crate, we replaced all of the control arm bushings, power steering components, and repainted the engine bay.
