Default holley systemaxII intake manifold

I got a Holley systemax II kit on my engine and I got a leak in my intake manifold in the back of the block in the lifter valley and need new gaskets. Looking through summit there a different gaskets for different size gaskets. Just wondering which size i need. One other thing the manifold is as it came in the kit no additional work has been done to it.

Not sure what year your car is, but I'm assuming it's your standard small block C3 engine. If so, the Felpro #1204 is a really good set. But don't use the little cork pieces to seal the front and back of the manifold. Run a bead of silicone gasket maker along the front and back of the block instead. Then, after you have the manifold all bolted down, apply some more silicone to the seams between the manifold and the block, front and rear.

Looks to be the same as the 300-36 may be a 1204 or 1205 Fel Pro. Call Summit they will know. Decent intake.

I saw a trick that carried that one step farther in an engine build article.

I was interested cuz I had done the silicone thing and it still blew out.

The engine builder in the article built hi perf race engines and was a very experienced builder. His trick has held for me for about 30k miles.

With the manifold removed, he uses a sharp point punch, or something like a "nail set" punch, to make a series of shallow dimples on both the
block and the underside of the intake where they mate. Around the dimple there's some raised metal that forms kind of a little raised claw
that will grip either the silicone bead, or the cork strips, and prevent
them from blowing out.

I made the dimples maybe 1/4" apart, being careful not to pound too
hard esp on the aluminum intake.
