I order a set of staright eared spinners for my 82. When installing them on the front I come to find that the tower that the spinner mounts on is to small to fit over the bearing hub. I called Ecklers and they told me that some of the 80-82's bearing hub assemblies were different sizes. They also told me that the only solution to this problem is to either have the inside of the tower machined or file it down to fit over the bearing hub. Does anyone have experience with these spinners or know where I can buy a set that will fit with out a lot of modification required?
Thanks

I got mine from Mid America but gave up on them after about two years. Everytime you want to balance your tires, get new tires, etc., they have to come off. And, if not on TIGHT, they will fly off on the roadway. Know, it happened.
have you tried a local rim shop...
i got spinners for my 69, fits perfectly...of course i don't have stock rims though
but you could try a local rim shop...you might be surprised...find one that
carries a lot of those fancy low-rider type rims (they all have spinners on them)
After repeatedly loosing the original caps I have considered "spinners". Also the problems mentioned with balancing and replacing tires.
MAD has them listed for $50, seems very cheap. Guess they must be of plastic?
My main concern is the ricer factor. Would they be considered ricer gear..??..
Actually, they are made of metal (probably a low grade) and chromed. Price is good, if you want them.
Very easy way to keep from loosing center caps is to put a SMALL dab of Plumber's Goop (like a silicone glue, but better). Make it small, otherwise removing them can be a task!
