How much would you pay for a BB.
Buddy of mine has a 75 suburbun. Has a little over a 100,000 on the miliage. Oil pressure sensoer or something went out and, well, he ran the engine out of oil and i think everyone knows what happened next. Moter will still turn over barely. Haven't opened it up yet. At a minuim it will require a rebuild.
I have a SB in my 77, looking to put in a BB. Question, how much would you pay for the above engine. :smash:

What's your idea ? ....bore out the block & assemble it with all new parts ? :confused:
I'd say $50 is reasonable (core value) if it's not too badly scarred - maybe a $100..... ;)

Yeah, i want to bore it out, rebuild it. As long as the crank is not shot, i can replace all the bearings, new cam, pistons, rings etc.. :smash:

If the main webs are not black from heat I would say it is worth 200 bucks.Those heads should not be the peanut port heads and if the crank is dead,a new Elgin or Cat can be bought for $189.00.Rods are a dime a dozen.
Just depends on the realities of"is it worth the trouble" to change all over to big block and how fast you really want to go.
