Headlight switch
The **** on your switch is removed by pressing on a small spring loaded button on the top body of the switch behind the dash pad. To get to mine. (1971) I removed the right lower dash pad (4 screws) then removed the screw under the dash pad in the metal brace extending from the firewall. Then remove the screws along the edge of the dash pad and screws next to the wiper switch. Then remove the A pillar pads. Then carefully lift the dash pad up and out. Don’t forget to remove the speaker wires. Now pull the light switch **** to the on position, and then push down on the little metal button and move the **** in just a little and the pull. There is a little trick to it but they come out pretty easily. Next un-plug the harness on the side of the switch. Then using the special tool designed for removing the nut that holds the head light switch or use a small pair of needle nose pliers and then a large wide flat bit screwdriver to remove the retaining nut and the light switch bezel. There will be two vacuum lines on the switch. The one with the blue strip goes on the on the back of the switch closest to the firewall.
