I couldn't resist the urge to brag a little, we all like new toys. :D I was supposd to wait until I had 60 days smokefree, but my willpower seems to be stronger for the quiting smoking than waiting another 12 days on the reward. Anyway, here's my new Honda VTX-1800. Talk about smoking.....
Re: Thunder's New Stable Mate.... (Rolling Thunder)
Wow that is only powerful machine. Congrats on the 48 days..... I was about 8 months until tonight when I had a cigar to celebrate the birth of my child. Why is the tradition to try and kill yourself(smoking a cigar) when you have a child?!?!?!?!
Well one cigar, and one cigar only...... 8 months down the drain but I sure as hell ain't starting up again full time.
Congrats on the 8 months Mike, but even more on the new baby! Hope mother and child are in good shape. The cigar won't kill you, and now you have more reason than ever not to pick the habit up again.
Re: Thunder's New Stable Mate.... (Rolling Thunder)
Congrats. Its been 2 yrs and 3 mnths for me and I feel lots better. Keep it up. I got a suzuki intruder when I quite but sold it cause I couldn't have 2 toys. Not enough time to mod the world
Re: Thunder's New Stable Mate.... (Rolling Thunder)
The kid is the exact reason I quit.... I never want my children to see me smoke... I saw my dad smoke..... I smoked.... not to mean that I blame my dad for me starting... Its my own stupidity that started me down this path. I also watched my dad die from brain tumors caused by cancer( not smoking related) the vivid pictures that I have stored in my head of my dads last few days are not something I want my children too have in their minds.

I relapsed pretty hard back into cigarettes when they blew up NY, I was serving in Germany in the 1st Armor, and since I was in the "forward deployed corp" and all that Jazz, I figured some bad ju-ju was gonna go down. It all got really rushed and I started smoking again, and am having a bugger of a time trying to quit again. I was off for like 3 months. Dang :cry
Dave,
You go dude.........and on that thing it will be easy to fly......
Life is good:blueangel: and then you take it to a new level. Congradulations on all your achievements. Hope to see you soon in person, that is if you are going to be around anymore

Jake, I know where you are coming from. I started smoking as a teenager, but really got hooked while serving in the airborne infantry in Vietnam. I brought some baggage back with me, but I have no complaints. You are young my friend, and if you want to be an old man at 50 you just keep right on puffing. I don't mean to be preaching, I just hope you and all of our other youngsters will learn from my stupid mistakes. I chain-smoked for 35 years, and most of the guys here know that a month ago I had part of a lung removed. I barely (by the grace of God) made it through the surgery. I am facing a similar operation on the other lung in the near future. Please, for your health, your family and your friends throw them down! If you think it's tough to quit at 21, just do it for another 30 years and then try to quit!
BTW, :flag thanks for your service to our country. God bless you little brother.
Niel - Let's get together soon, friend. I'm going to West Virginia tomorrow and will be back in a day or so. You let me know when you have time, and I'll be there.
Mike - It's like a big block bike! :D
Len - Thanks for the old age reminder. :) Tatoo, yeah, that's the ticket. Never had one of those. :)

Re: Thunder's New Stable Mate.... (Rolling Thunder)
Thanx, I appreciate the encouragement. I am slowly losing the urge to smoke, It comes it goes, I am down to like between 0-5 smokes a day. Just gotta get the willpower for that last little push to none ever again. something about beer and cigarettes that kills me.
