How do I install a door switch?
I tried and the thing keeps sliding back and forth. I'm afraid to keep tightening it and strip the frame metal. What is the technique?

If it is sliding by itself then it is time to replace it. Screwing it in tigher will not stop it. Get a new switch, unscrew the old one, put the wires on the new one, and screw it back in. When you close the door it will adjust itself.
