I usually get one or two e-mails a month asking me about the wheels on my 74 so I thought I would just put a post up with an explanation. The wheels are from the now defunct Fenton Wheel company. They are 15 x 8.5 inches and are called Fanjets. They came with the car when I bought it 15 years ago and I originally wanted to swap them out for a set of original rally wheels. But the longer I kept the car the more they grew on me. Right now I don't think I'd part with them mostly for their looks and secondly for their rarity. I've done searches all over the net and haven't found them anywhere. The wheels are raw aluminum and very easy to maintain. Just a spray twice a year with etching mag cleaner and a hosing off keeps them looking good. They originally came with plastic chrome plated caps which eventually cracked and fell apart. I replaced them with generic caps which I purchased from Pep Boys and put the Corvette emblems in the center. The closest wheel in appearance that I've seen to these are the repro bolt on knockoffs from places like Corvette America. Hope this answers a few questions.
Nice of you to introduce the subject of old wheels. Here are my basement specials. Western Cyclone II mags with cones and spinners. Circa 1980. They gather dust.
