Default Brake Proportioning Valve

Is there supposed to be a screw in the end of the brake proportioning valve? Hopefully the pic displays - I can't see it in the preview.

You have no pic showing, if you are referring to a 73, there should not be any screws in the valve, four fluid lines at each point and a sensor on the top.

Too bad I am having difficulty posting the pic. The screw is screwed right into the end of the valve (sensor).

Will someone please tell me how to post a pic in the thread? I am using the insert image prompt and pasting in the url from the album.
Thanks in advance.

Here's the Proportioning valve (78'). No screws.

Here's the warning switch (71'). No screws here either. Your 73' should look like this one.

I think this is the pic the OP tried to post.
It does almost look like a phillips screw on the end.
A pic of the other end would be interesting.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I was trying to insert images from the picture album in the User CP. I will set up the photo bucket account and hopefully will have more luck.

Yes, it does look like a phillips screw in the end but I cannot seem to unscrew it. It just spins freely. The other end looks exactly like the piece shown in the picture at Corvette America (PN 25498). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a pic of this part just by itself. All the websites I have visited simply show the entire block with the piece already screwed into place.

That part 25498 is not a proportioning valve. It is really the distribution block or also known as a differential pressure valve. Same as the one Duke94 posted above. It contains the electrical switch (pictured in your hand) that grounds out and lites the dash warning lite when the piston in the valve is not centered.
The combo/proportioning valve didn't start until 75 in Corvettes.
These valves are often incorrectly named causing a lot of confusion.

That is the warning switch. It should have a plunger sticking out the bottom that rides up on a piston when there is a brake failure and closes the switch contacts (lights the dash "brake" light). It should look simular to the one in the picture below. Yours is the older metal body switch which was replaced by a plastic body in later years (cost reduction). The one you have is junk and will need to be replaced. Note that you have the "Warning switch only" type valve and the one in the photo is a "proportioning valve", but the switch is the same.
