What is it????
On my 1974 under the console, between the shifter and the radio bezel, there is a black electrical unit mounted on the metal bar going across the tunnel. It looks like a transformer or something!!!! What is it for? Thanks.

Sorry, no power windows! I am going to try to trace the wiring to see where it goes. I will also try to post a picture later. This thing is big, about 3" x 3". That is why it reminded me of a transformer. Thanks for the reply.

I took it apart and found a part number on it and googled it. It is a Delco Remy seat belt interlock relay used only on 74 & 75 vettes. Since none of that stuff works any more I think I am going to remove it. Hopefully it will still start!!! Wish me luck and thanks to all the replies.
