Default ZZ4 rotating assy, Cost $$$$$

How much are you guys paying for a new ZZ4 Rotating assy? These are basically a 4 bolt,. roller block, fitted with new cranks, pistons and rods. The brgs are installed for the cam, but no cam included. I am just wondering, as the ZZ4 rotating assy are what we install as a replacement block assy for Vortec Marine engines. Al

I know our cost of a ZZ4 rotating assy. I was just wondering what others are paying. $2,800 is pretty high. Anyone else? Like I said, no cam included or timing chain ect. Al

Default ? AL: 5.7 Vortec Marine Intake Gasket ?

Al
Seems you have marine experience ... have question on Vortec Marine Gaskets.

I've installed marine INTAKE gaskets for 4.3 V6 Vortec ... gaskets are aluminum base w/ green silicone. Installed them in GMC truck ... Those are GREAT gaskets ... they have a GM part number (which I've since forgotten)

Question: Is there a GM equivalent alum-green silicone MARINE intake gasket for the iron head 5.7 V8 Vortec? Part number?

on rotating assembly ...a few around here have attempted to create their own look-alike crate motors (i.e GMPP x602) for regional crate motor restricted circle track racing. They found out the real-deal genuine GM cranks, powder rods & hyper pistons per x602 are TOO pricey! Pretty sure ZZ4 has same x688 rods.

Sorry, but I have not seen any aluminum framed intake manifold gaskets. The marine versions run so much cooler than the automotive versions. I do know Fel-Pro does make a version like you want. Not sure of the cost. As for the ZZ4 I rotating assy. Last summer I used 3 of these and was hoping to maybe get a better cost. But, I sell the rotating assy for less than $2,800.00 Al

The rotating assy's I have been buying are the ZZ4 block, crank, rods, pistons ect. NO cam's. Some "short blocks" include a cam. The one's I buy do not. These are all externally ballanced engines also. When one is taken apart the pistons have a special coating on them. Black or dark charcoal in color. These are brand new from GM High Performance division. Ironically they come from Mexico. The last block assy I bought last fall was manufactured over two years ago. Al
