My new 383 setup starts like your turning on a switch. Has No choke and minimal pumping required.

My 68 starts immediately (less than 2 seconds of cranking) even after sitting for a couple of days. However - I have a 50000 Volt HEI Ignition installed...
My 80 Duntov takes about 5 - 6 seconds of cranking after sitting for a couple of days. If I use the Duntov every day - it starts right up.

I have to pump my pedal three times and then my car turns right over. I have a road demon carb and normally only drive my car on weekend. So it sits a week or sometimes more, but after that one start I normally do not pump it or give it one pump to restart.

2 pumps and about 4-5 seconds. I only use mine 2-3 days a week during the summer months only. Hoping a new MSD setup will shave a few startup seconds and smooth out the idle.
