Default Gauges?

I am wanting to clean up the gauges in my 77 Vette. I don't want to use shotty parts, but I am not looking to spend $500 on gauge restoration right now either... Looking for a good compromise... Has anyone used one of these white face kits in the link below? It is worth trying out or is this stuff junk?

Thanks!

I'm missing something here. If you have inoperable gauges, the white face bling won't help you much.

The post never says that the gauges are inoperable.. This is just cosmetic and the white faces should clean that right up.

Is it true that is costs $500 to have your speedometer/tac redone?

I want to have my 85 mph changed and recalibrated but $500 seems like a lot.

I read on here Harrison Speedometer is a good place but had not found or asked about any pricng yet.

That is what I found out from a post on here is that it is $400-500 for the restoration. This might be for all gauges though, not sure...

My speedo only needs the odometer numbers cleaned and the reset numbers fixed (doesn't work or reset...), so I am going to see about tinkering with it and just replacing the gauge faces...

I changed my gauge faces to white and the kit was excellent. The big block tach redline is different from the ones they provide so I called and they sent another face with the correct redline.

It won't fix the trip odometer or brighten up those number wheels (mine are pretty yellow) but your gauges will look better.

If you don't want to change the color from stock, WhiteGauges.net offers them in black for an extra $30.

I suggest you go directly to their website because the sale price on their site is lower than E-bay and shipping is free.

If you do this, let me know how it came out. I was thinking of doing this to mine also.
