I have an 81 Corvette, which I am installing an electric fuel pump near the gas tank. Looking for input on the best place to get a 12V ignition source for it. All suggestion appreciated.
Run it off a relay. On it's own circuit. Trigger the relay with an ignition on hot wire. Hot from the battery to the relay which will route it to the pump. You may want to put a cut off switch in the line as a safety.

Hope that helps,

Pink wires are usually hot in start/run. about using a relay, and the source from the battery should be fused. You can get a safety switch from a junkyard. Ford Taurus and other Ford models have a re-settable switch in the trunk. They will be in great shape even in the junkyard and should only cost a few $. On impact the switch will open and shut the pump off. That should go on the + voltage side also.
looking to install a fuel injection system on my 79. any thoughts??
