90 Column in a 77 Vette
Anybody ever done a swap of a later column in a '77? I had a telt/tele but it is in terrible shape, bent, bearings gone, and has been welded back together by someone who was about my level of a welder (not a very good welder). In short, not trustworthy. I have a column out of a '90 that is in good working order. I can make it fit the car. Electrically, it will work with the lights, wipers, and ignition. However, the end of the shaft on the '90 is a D shape with a flat and splines. The original '77 column is a round shaft with splines all around. If anyone has done this, what did you do with the rag joint? Does anyone make a replacement upper half of this joint for the new column? Any help would be appreciated.
