Default Newbie-Better performance mods

Hello all. I am a Corvette newbie. Looking and test driving the C3 model. I was wondering.... what are the most common modifications that can be done to get a bit more performance? I don't want to install a new engine or anything.... was thinking of things like exhaust, that type of thing. Can you all be kind enough to offer some suggestions? Thanks.

I'd start with a tune up so you have a baseline for performance.

If it's a bone stock engine, add recurving the distributor to your list. This will make a noticeable difference in how it performs and is inexpensive.
