Well I wanted to post a few pictures up of the progress I am making in adapting a ford 9 inch center housing to work as an IRS set up for my corvette. I plan on making huge power and breaking the overall IRS 1/4 mile record and I needed the gearing available and strength of the Ford nine inch to meet my needs. hopefully I will be out racing this summer, lots of work to do though.
strange pro iron case, special ordered 35 spline stub shafts from strange, took freakin two months to get since they had to design from scratch or make a CAD drawing based off my paper drawings.
Very nice and looking forward to more progress pics!!
How much HP do you think it will take to beat the IRS 1/4 mile record?
I am having a 12 bolt IRS done right now and am curious for comparison purposes, how much do you think you'll have in the Ford 9" IRS portion of your project?
