I shall be replacing the brake lines on my 1975 Corvette shortly, and the only choice seems to be between steel or stainless steel, when browsing the various vendor catalogs.
Since I wish to make the new brakelines myself, can the learned members of this forum tell me, if there is anything wrong in making the brake lines from 3/16" copper brake line tubing (which is the case on many other cars), or should I use the stronger Cupronickel alloy? Both materials fulfil international specifications for brake lines.
Stay with the steel or stainless steel. Brake pressure is high and softer metal tubing will expand and possibly split the line. Your taking about your brakes, a place not to take shortcuts. IMHO

I would buy a premade set of steel or stainless. Don't think they are that expensive and they are already bent to fit, just attach them to the frame and hook em up.
And if the lines fail do to a manufacturing defect, you got someone to sue!
