Transmisison Shift Cable Replacement
Does anyone have any links, instructions on how to replace the transmission shift cable on 76 corvette. My cable need to be replaced and not sure if I have to tear apart the interior to get to the shift end.
Any help appreciated.

I replaced my 77 shift cable a few years back fortunately my console was apart at the time which made it real easy. Mine had 3 sheetmetal screws holding the cable plate to the floor and a single clip holds the cable onto the shifter and the cable also attaches to the transmission shift rod with a locking clip. You hopefully will be able to access everything by removing the console side panels.

i have a 700r4....this is PITA i just did it last summer.....i had to remove console cover i dont recall having to detach the shifter from the console....and you need to get the safety neutral switch adjusted properly after wards.....did i mention it was a PITA...let me see if i have any pictures...
