Build sheet in the dash?
I've got a nicely original, early '71 that I have recently started to go over - clean up, etc. I was disappointed that I had no tank sticker - figured it was long gone until I dropped the driver's dash last night and found it wedged between the speedo and the tach. Anyone heard of this before? I am just positive this car has never been torn into before - this has got to be a factory deal.
I now see that I have performance axle option 1VZQ9AA, when I thought I had always had a 3:08. Can anyone identify this one for me?

figured it was long gone until I dropped the driver's dash last night and found it wedged between the speedo and the tach.
In my case I wasn't that lucky, though: that was just a piece of the build sheet... (a piece of sheet? :D)

Great find!!! I found the build sheet on the tank that was in perfect condition. then when i started to do the interior I took out the jack and found a second folded perfectly under the jack that had never been removed :cheers: :cheers:

I've read in Corvette Fever that behind the dash is a possible build sheet location and, as you can see, several members have found their's there. I think the article also said on the tank and under the driver's seat. I'd never hear of the jack before; I'll have to remember that one.
Now I have to wonder, given the difficulties of dismantling the driver's side dash, do I hope that mine is there or on top of the tank?

Exactly the location of mine - I should have taken a pic like you did! And please God, NEVER let me have to take out that side of the dash again. I have a Corvette Fever article on replacing the dash on these cars - unfortunately they made it look easy! It seems the best way to do this would be to remove the steering column first - at the VERY least, remove the steering wheel. I don't know HOW they got the CF car apart, even though they show pictures. Never again, never again, never again...! Thanks, everyone! And it looks like I have the 3.36 axle from information I have been able to dig up - I'll confirm when I get the car on the road.
